SOPHOCLES ZOULLAS

Sophocles N. Zoullas has been involved in the shipping industry for over 30 years with experience in all strategic, commercial and operational aspects of the business, in both private and public companies. Mr. Zoullas is currently the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Zenith Shipping, an owner of a diversified fleet of large oceangoing cargo vessels carrying a broad range of commodities. Mr. Zoullas was formerly a principal of Delphin Shipping, an investor in public shipping equities, and Founder, Chairman and CEO of Eagle Bulk Shipping, a Nasdaq listed 45-vessel shipping company. In the span of his career, Mr. Zoullas has bought and sold over 100 vessels as well as ordered and constructed over 40 newbuilds. In the capital markets, he has raised capital in primary and secondary issues, PIPES, bought deals, ATMs and an IPO. He has also raised significant capital in the non-public institutional markets and international bank markets. 

Mr. Zoullas is the Chairman of the Lloyds Register North American Advisory Committee and serves on the Board of the London P&I Insurance Association. He was also named Man of the Year by the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, Tradewinds Power 100 Most Important People in Shipping and received a Marine Money Deal of the Year Award. Mr. Zoullas also serves on the Dean’s Cabinet of the Harvard Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Science and co-Chairs the Harvard Museums Modern and Contemporary Committee. He is a graduate of Harvard College and also sits on various charitable boards.
