JEFF BARTEL

Senior Advisor to the LPCE and founding member of the Advisory Board

Jeff Bartel is chairman and managing director of Hamptons Group, LLC, an alternative investment and advisory firm headquartered in Miami and offices in New York and California—with investments, projects, and clients across the United States and worldwide in private capital, real estate, and strategic advisory. Jeff also is a lecturer at Harvard University on leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and he is an adjunct professor at the University of Florida College of Law and the University of Miami Business School, where he teaches courses on life and career strategy and impact. 


Over the course of his career, Jeff has led privately held entities, served as a senior executive and corporate officer at Fortune 200® companies, and began in private law practice and before that in local and federal government service. A devoted philanthropist and community leader, he has led and served on the boards of some of Florida's most impactful business, educational, and cultural organizations. Jeff has been honored by dozens of business alliances, community organizations, universities, and governmental bodies for his leadership, impact, social responsibility, and ethics. Jeff has been profiled and featured as a subject expert, contributor, and opinion writer in over a hundred media publications and articles, including The New York Times, Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, Miami Herald, The Business Journals, NASDAQ News, Daily Business Review, South Florida Business Journal, and Miami Today. 


Mr. Bartel holds a bachelor’s degree cum laude in government with a secondary field in music from Harvard College, where he was named a Harvard College Scholar, a teaching assistant, on the student board at the Institute of Politics, an editor and writer for The Independent newspaper, a member of the Crimson Key Society, a Harvard Student Agencies manager, and played football. He holds a law degree with honors from the University of Florida College of Law, where he won the Darry Davis Scholarship for superlative academics, leadership, and commitment to public service, named to the University of Florida Hall of Fame, and inducted into the Florida Blue Key leadership honor society. He also participated in Harvard Business School’s advanced program for senior executives and Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation.
